sPACETTE

Spacette has traveled many musical galaxies, from the turn-of-the-80s synth and guitar sci-fi of 2020’s self-titled debut to the distinctly dreamy vibe of You Don’t Have to Rise to Shine one year later.

Now, the LA-based outfit, led by songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Jordan Heimburger, turns its attention to home turf. The new album Always, Jackie is a late-night stumble down Sunset in the ’70s, brushing against characters inspired by the world of Jackie Collins. The sounds that surround you are psychedelic funk, glam rock, and disco. You catch a ride after the gig in a stranger's limo to watch the sunrise over Laurel Canyon. Joining Heimburger on this ride are Ann Louise Thaiss on vocals (Honey Whiskey Trio, solo artist) and Tony Barbata on drums (John Henry, Sleepy Rubies).

Always, Jackie lead single “Leopard Dress” is a dance floor banger saturated in the psychedelic funk of the 1970s, with a story centered around a stylish nightclub rendezvous. Lush California harmonies meet hazy psychedelic production on the second single “Caught Up (In You)”, a torch song that feels as timeless as it does fresh. Third single “Put the Record Down” finds its groove with equal parts style and swagger.

Always, Jackie is out now.
